The UK offers several visa pathways depending on the purpose of your visit, your nationality, and your individual circumstances. These pathways fall into categories such as work, study, family, tourism, and investment. Here's an overview of the main UK visa types and pathways:
WORK VISAS
These are designed for individuals who want to work or do business in the UK.
Skilled Worker Visa
- Purpose: For skilled professionals with a job offer in the UK.
- Requirements: Job offer from a UK employer, certificate of sponsorship, and a skill level matching the role. The employer must also be approved by the Home Office.
- Duration: Up to 5 years (extendable).
Health and Care Worker Visa
- Purpose: For healthcare professionals with a job offer in the NHS or an eligible healthcare provider.
- Requirements: Job offer from an approved employer and a certificate of sponsorship.
- Duration: Up to 5 years (extendable).
Global Talent Visa
- Purpose: For individuals recognized as leaders or potential leaders in specific fields such as science, engineering, medicine, humanities, digital technology, and the arts.
- Requirements: Endorsement from a UK body in your field.
- Duration: Up to 5 years (can lead to permanent residency).
Intra-Company Transfer Visa
- Purpose: For employees of multinational companies being transferred to a UK branch.
- Requirements: Job offer from a UK-based branch and sponsorship.
- Duration: Short-term (up to 12 months) or long-term (up to 9 years depending on role and salary).
Start-up and Innovator Visas
- Purpose: For entrepreneurs with innovative business ideas.
- Requirements: Endorsement by a UK endorsing body for your business idea.
- Duration: Start-up Visa (2 years), Innovator Visa (3 years, can lead to settlement).
